Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic event. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to become Romania's gymnastics coach. In 1969, she took part in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. She took home three golds at her debut competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972, which was a the communist bloc nations. Between 1973 and 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. She won four gold and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors that took place in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as an older senior. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman to perform the backward double salto in an unmounting from uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer during her teenage years. She started her career performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment programs Ice Capades. Ice Capades was a show that featured ice-skating by actors.
